Caritas Dominicana held its VII National Assembly in an environment where solidarity, unity and empathy reigned.
This VII Assembly was chaired by Monsignor Julio César Corniel Amaro, President Bishop of Caritas Dominicana; together with the national director, Leonor Cruz.
Diocesan directors of the Dominican Caritas Network in the country participated in this VII Assembly, with members of their teams. Part of the National Office team was also present.
As part of the agenda, the results of the VI Assembly were presented and the report of the Administrative Committee was released regarding the review of the Financial Statements for the year 2023 and the budget execution of the same year, among other points.
It is worth noting that said report was valued by those present as transparent and well done.
Agreements
During the development of the VII Assembly, several topics were addressed and interesting agreements were reached, among them: the resource raising commission was restructured and maintained, the administrative committee was ratified, the work table for the preparation of the 2024-2030 Strategic Plan was reactivated, and the creation of a commission to review and update the institution's statutes.
In addition, a commission was formed that will be supporting and monitoring to safeguard policies, a very important issue for the Church and for the Caritas Network throughout Latin America, among others.

For his part, Monsignor Julio César Corniel Amaro, Presiding Bishop of Caritas Dominicana, stated that it was a blessing and a very correct decision by the Conference of the Dominican Episcopate (CED), the election of Leonor Cruz as national director of the Caritas Network.
